The great tsunami of 1998

I was watching "Deep Impact" yesterday. It had just reached the part where the tsunami hits when Yaya walked in.

Yaya: Is this real?
Me: You mean the tsunami? The giant wave?
Yaya: Yeah.
Me: No. A tsunami has never destroyed the east coast of the U.S., at least not during recent history.
Yaya: Oh. OK. Is this almost over? I want to play a video game.

This is not the first time he's asked me if some movie special effect is real. In fact, if a movie shows some part of the world being destroyed, I can guarantee he will ask if it's real. Things only get complicated when he asks about movies like "Titanic" where the things that happened are real, but if you say yes when he asks he'll assume it's a video of the actual event. He's kind of a literal child.
